Introduction:

The United Nations Women and the World Health Organization’s Joint Programme on Violence Against Women Data and Measurement, in collaboration with Apolitical, has launched a new online course. This course, available on Apolitical’s peer-to-peer learning platform, is designed for public servants and policymakers. It focuses on using data effectively to address violence against women.

Benefit:

  • The course equips them with understanding and skills necessary for collecting, managing, and reporting relevant data, enhancing their capability to make informed policy decisions.

Program Structure and Timespan:

  • The course is divided into four parts, covering:

    • Understanding what constitutes violence against women data and its importance.
    • Exploring types of data, collection methods, and considerations for managing and reporting. This includes a focus on prevalence surveys and administrative data.
